This is the first of two part post. Well sort of. You’ll find out why tomorrow. But for now, just know that I’m setting you up.
I was driving on the 170 in Los Angeles when I had first heard about Snake River Conspiracy. They played this song ‘You And Your Friend’. Now mind you it’s a great song. But that isn’t why I was so interested in this band. It was actually because I knew where this song came from and the first band the wrote it and recorded it.
To make a long story short on this, I ended up liking this version almost as much as the original – so I went and bought the album. Lets just say that it’s a heavy piece of music from front to back. You have to be into female fronted industrial music to really want to buy the whole CD. I know that’s not most people’s cup of tea. This song in particular is easy to digest and there’s a reason why. It’s got a great flow and they do happen to do it some decent justice.
While I still put the album on from time to time. It’s my buddy Chris who is really into industrial and dark moody music who really loves this kind of music. This band wasn’t just hot like the weather is turning into another heat wave again. They were scorching in their recordings.
I understand that Snake River Conspiracy is working on a long overdue follow up to this particular release, which is Sonic Jihad. I do recommend that you purchase this song. Especially to support the songwriters, which this case is not Snake River Conspiracy. The follow up will likely be every bit as scorching as this.
Enjoy, purchase and hear ya tomorrow!
