Step, step, step, step. It takes steps to get things done. Yesterday I got 3 more songs done. This morning I’m looking at the songs I have left to finish before I start getting people to vote on all the tunes and I realized it’s only three. Technically two, but I have lyrics for a song that I wish to put to music. So once I sing the two songs today I will start fleshing out the music for the third. My goal is to finish them tonight.
Also I’ve been working on a project to repaint a railing. I’ve stripped the paint off of it. Today I’ll fill the cracks with silicone. Tomorrow I will put primer paint on it. Once that dries, I’ll sand it again to smooth it off and finally paint it. Should be finished by Friday.
A little later I’ll need to take a break to listen to mixes on another project I’ve been doing for my library. Then I also need to tweak lyrics for a video game song that I’m singing on next Monday. That will likely need to happen tomorrow.
People often ask how I get so much done. I usually reply, I don’t think about it. I make up my mind to do something then I start doing it. Little bits and pieces. Much like working out. I’m really enjoying the workouts I started about 5 months ago. The changes I’m seeing now are fantastic. Also has me feeling better than I have in a really long time, physically.
Which brings me to No Vacation by Tim Blane. A moving song that can certainly bring a strong sense of getting a move and finish things. There’s a real crisp feel going on here. I like it. There’s some strong production value. The pulse never stops and to that end it really lives up to it’s title of feeling like there is no vacation coming. Each pulse is a little step driving you to the end of the song.
