As it turns out this morning I got the device I had been waiting for. The airport express arrived today. So while I wait on mix notes from a co-writer on any changes needed for a recently finished project I’m going to mess around with it. What’s my desire? I’ve been getting all my music ready to be played from any source to the airport which will sit with the stereo I have. I envision being able to say that I used to walk uphill both ways through the living room in the deep snow so that I could change a song or CD. Of course now I can sit on my butt while using my lappy or my phone and be able to play any song I have on my server. Additionally I’ll be able control the volume too.
One of the songs or new bands that I’ll be enjoying on that new system of listening geekdom is Seth&Zakk. They remind me a bit of a cross between Throwing Toasters and Cross The Skyline. A modern sound in the vocals with an acoustic and slightly humorous vibe.
What would it be like if they got a bunch of new toys in a big studio? They might actually take the genre they’re in and command it. Master it. Own it.
It took a moment for me to get into the song, but once I did I was hooked. I really like their sense of simplicity in the chords (which is similar to Throwing Toasters). But it’s the lyrical content and their voices that give them that poppy sound. Not a bad thing. They’re definitely owning it as it is.
I would love to get my hands on them and produce them with a full on production. I think it would be fun. I get a great energy from their music. I’m betting you do too.
