One of the bonuses of living in Los Angeles is that every so often a cool little opportunity pops up. Today is one such day. A day or two ago I was sent a direct message via Twitter that asked if I’d be interested in seeing a demonstration of some new 3D movie examples.
Generally speaking I’m usually not impressed with 3D. Probably how most of the world feels about music in surround sound 5.1 format. I think surround sound rocks because it’s very much like how we hear the world. But there is something odd with attempting to add depth to a screen. I still wanted to see what they had done in order to make it work.
I learned some interesting things. One, the company I went to see today is able to create 3D after the fact. Two, their technology is really quite amazing. Three, it’s generally the project that causes the issue about 3D I dislike the most (the ghosting of images).
After watching the examples they did I was amazed at how well it was done. Makes me think were really only a few years away from seeing a whole lot more movies done in three.
I’ve got to get on with making some more edits to a song I’m working on. So let me get to today’s choice…
It has absolutely no connection to the idea of 3D movies or surround sound music. Though I would say it would be interesting to hear what this song would sound like in surround sound.
Flat out I like this song for the mysterious nature it gives. I also like the vibe of the drum loop and the way the track builds. Crystal’s vocal lends itself well to this style. This is the kind of song I like to put on to sit and chill. Makes me wonder why I don’t write some chill type tunes of my own for me.
Anyway, if you’re diggin the vibe, go get it for yourself!
