This past weekend was a good one for getting things finished and or moving forward. Friday kicked off a day of several meetings about my music. That’s always a good thing. Oddly enough the people I met with early in the morning were from the UK and they were meeting with the same person I was having lunch with, later in the day. Small world.
Turns out I apparently have some good things to add in the way of tech needs in the library world, based on the meeting and what they were showing and asking about in terms of their service. At one point, something I said had sparked something that they immediately wrote down as something they needed to incorporate. Not bad.
The lunch meeting was equally good. New connections going on there. Some high praise. All kinds of goodness. Hopefully it will lead to some great things in the next few weeks to a month.
Saturday was a day of sun, exercise, and hanging with friends. A kick ass hike up the Santa Inez trail. Lots of steep rocks, lots of bouldering and a little climbing. Lots of fun. The best part was that I didn’t get any poison oak. There was another cool meeting in that group. Turns out one of the hikers is a film editor. Happens to edit some of my annual favorite movies by a famous ski film maker. That was a nice surprise and a nice connection.
Sunday I spent time finalizing my library’s website page for examples and searching of music. I finally have it in a finished working form. Dancin Deer Audio is the name of my library. My videos pop up in a nice animated fashion, the searching for music works. The last thing will be to start making it look pretty, but that will come with time.
Today, I’ll be heading into a recording session. Then I’ll be making some phone calls, along with doing some sound sculpting and creation of more musical ideas. 🙂
On to the music…
I have to go with an 80’s classic today. The Cars and their tune Moving In Stereo. Mostly because I’m feeling like I’m expanding. Could be the workouts (thanks P90X). Could be the dancing. Could be the gourmet cooking. Could be career stuff. Could be that work on the house is finishing up and negative energy is going to be moving out. While life is still kinda the same, it’s definitely opening up and changing at the same time.
The song has super cool synth riffs. Simple layers of lots of things. Cool sounds. Easy to hear lyrics. And that classic Cars vibe. Fun stuff. If you don’t got it. Why not? Go get it! Now! Start Moving In Stereo.
