I spent some time with friends over the weekend. Actions of hiking and hanging out were the main order of business. One of my friends, Russell, owns a spiritual bookstore in Santa Monica called Thunderbolt. It’s near 5th on Santa Monica Blvd. Cool little shop. If you’re in need of anything spiritually related or new-agey, that’s the place to get it.
While I don’t subscribe to a particular religion, I do rely on friends to bounce things off of. After my thing Saturday morning, it was good to have the support of friends. It continued Sunday where I made my first pilgrimage to the Santa Monica Farmers Market for the first time.
It’s a veritable plethora of organic foods and items. There was organic potatoes and coconut juice, orange juice, and more. I had a bit of a yam then finished with an organic omelette. Very tasty stuff no doubt. I can see how people would have a great time going there to hang out. There was live music, and a whole lot of people milling about. I’m thinking it would be a lot of fun to hang out there more often.
Thinking about breakfast, I’m going to share a tune from a friend of mine Daniel Ho. It’s The Breakfast Song. I don’t know all the words as some of it is native to Hawaii. Doesn’t matter it’s got a cool island style that actually fits the soul of Santa Monica as well. Maybe it’s that beach thing. Beach/island right?
I’m betting the nature of the song will put a smile on your face and that’s a great thing when you’re looking to get your day started. Wouldn’t you agree?
