The meeting from two days ago resulted in me being asked to create a spoof version of a classic TV theme. Today it’s due and I’m more than halfway done. I’ll be plowing through it until about noon. Then I have yet another writing session to finish hooks for the funk songs Jesse Stern and I have been working on. It will feel great to get it all done. So far we’ve been having fun going a little cheeky with the lyrical hooks. Then again, funk is supposed to have a little zaniness.
Today is going to mark a little departure. Youtube is changing how they embed video. Makes me wonder if any I’ve shown in the past will no longer work. I’m gonna roll with a song that might describe how some people are feeling right now with their homes despite the holiday season. Supermassive Black Hole by Muse. Perfect for those going through the torture of foreclosure, or losing their homes or places of residence due to negligence or illegal means. Even more sad is if they’re not informed enough to know they can fight back.
Don’t let your holiday get sucked into a Supermassive Black Hole. There is irony in that term. Mostly because if memory serves me correct, the size of a black hole wouldn’t matter. It’s a force from which you can’t escape once you’re in it’s path. The opening riff is cool. Reminiscent of say something like Led Zeppelin though more modern sounding.
Layer upon layer. That appears to be the Muse way. Get a simple and cool idea then layer around it with tons of dressing. Nothing wrong with that. I do it in writing as well. I’m going to sit back and enjoy the ride, I suggest you do the same.
Have you gotten yourself a gift yet?
