All the work I’ve been putting into starting a new venture is likely about to start paying off in terms of the library. Despite the setback with the long time deal in the making, I’m taking it upon myself to start finding the right person(s) to start representing the library in a sales capacity. I realize I have a head for business, but I hate doing it. I especially hate the idea of sales. Even though I truly believe that a product should sell itself, music unfortunately does not work that way. Great music, let along good music does not just rise to the top with the help of someone to push it.
Of course one of the other bits of fun is the ability to figure out the market for pricing. That’s where I’m currently at right now. Working on getting the rates together as I’m working on finding the right peep to represent. In addition I do have a couple more composers to start adding to the mix. In that respect I’m happy to be expanding the music.
Sooner or Later I’ll get this damn game off the ground floor. Good thing I came across this tune by Michelle Branch. The title fit perfectly. Though she’s singing about guy she wants to have come around, I really want the business to do it’s thing and come around.
If I weren’t too off my rocker I’d have to say that Michelle is attempting to branch into the country market as this song is highly reminiscent of the current state of country female artists. It reminds me a bit of say Taylor Swift. It’s engineered pop no doubt about it. Doesn’t stop me from enjoying it. I’m bettin’ you’ll enjoy it too.
