Today will be a new venture into writing with a friend that I’ve known for about two years. She’s a budding artist who is interested in writing with someone that has more experience. Like any new writing partner I find the first session generally will be all about getting to know the other person better. That’s what I envision happening.
I do already have an idea of what she envisions for herself as an artist as I had asked that prior to today in order to get it in my head where to put my head. I prefer to do this so that I’m going in the right direction for someone else’s needs. Call me silly. I like to write with a purpose.
I really have no connection between what I’m thinking of for today and the song I’ve got for today’s post. It happens once in a while where I have no connection between what I’ve got going on in my world and the music around me.
Today’s selection is In The Sun by Mark Radcliff.
Wait. I’ve made a connection. The sun is out in Los Angeles. Heh. Ok, a weak connection, but one nevertheless.
The song is the kind of song that essentially sneaks up on you. The intro did not grab me right away. As the song got going I fell into place with it. Thus it’s the kind of song that you will likely listen to when you’re driving in a car on a road trip. When you’re not in a hurry. It’s not about instant gratification here on this one. Take your time and enjoy.
