Post Thanksgiving Holiday Joy.
I can’t complain. I spent some great time in Santa Rosa CA. Got to have a great meal with family. Then spent some time chilling and actually getting some online work done with some other musical projects that I have. One was the complete revamp of my website as an artist. I also spent some time working on putting together another promotional thing.
One of the afternoons was spent milling about in the Santa Rosa area, including Napa and other wine country. What happened? Oh we visited the Coppola Winery. If you get a chance to stop by their winery, I suggest doing so. It’s a bit of a museum of Coppola’s film history along with good eats and of course information about their wine.
What did I do while there?
I planked.
Then I tweeted it.
Oddly enough Coppola Winery’s tweet peeps somehow got wind of the tweet. They then retweeted it. I was a little surprised by that. But hey, I’m cool with it, if they are.
It was fun.
Did you have Thanksgiving Holiday fun or post holiday joy?
In light of the idea of fun I thought I’d roll with Lenny Marcus and his jazzy swingin version of Ode To Joy. There’s a real treat in hearing songs done well in a style that they weren’t originally intended for. Lenny does this long time recognizable track in top form.
Another reason it came across my mind is that I had a music supervisor looking for versions of Ode To Joy for a feature film. Although they’re looking for Orchestral and Vocal versions. Thus unfortunately as swingin as this version is, it’s not right for the part. Oh well.
Enjoy the wind-down of November and prepare for the fun of December.
