Today starts a weekend of being immersed in learning the finer points of Blues dancing. Usually when I tell people that I’ve started taking dance lessons they assume some form of thing you’d see on Dancing with the Stars. No, it’s not ballroom type stuff. It’s much more improvised and way more intimate most of the time.
If you’re interested in what I’m referring to, you can check out LA Blues Kitchen. The workshop this weekend is being taught by two champion blues dancers, Dexter & Heidi. Should be fun.
While I’ve never recorded an outright blues song, I’ve been asked if I would. Seems I’ll have to add that to my list.
In the meantime, I’m rolling with a track by Keb’ Mo’. Cause if you’re gonna get somewhere with life you need to love yourself. I fully agree with Keb’s assessment with that. Once you can love yourself, it’s much easier for others to love you as well.
As for this song in particular, I’ve yet to hear it come up for play at a class. I’ll have to request it.
