Lots of people love to think that they have incredible memories. To the point where they don’t think they should write anything down. That’s extremely noble but at the same time, rather naive. Such a case has come to my attention this morning. I’ve been keeping a running total of many things that relate to someone doing some work for me. The person in question has not been writing things down. This morning things got a little heated towards me when he stated that I’ve been paid back every time something was borrowed. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case – and I have written proof. Sadly it’s going to devolve. Mostly because this individual believes that people are out to screw him.
It’s a fantastically good thing to write things down to keep perspective. It also helps the memory when things come into question.
At some point I’ll need to read back thru years of Single of the Day. It will be interesting to see what I was thinking or going through on certain days in the past. As I’m thinking about it right now, it’s been a really long time since I’ve done any comedic type posts. I can recall doing one that was in the style of Dick and Jane. Not sure if I ever did one like Dr. Seuss – I’ll have to try that at some point.
On to the music, seeing as how I need to finish and finalize an arrangement for a track I’ve done. Then spend a little time sanding and painting.
Carousel is the song coming to you today from a band called Paper Route. They’re brought to my attention by a friend I recently met at a blues dance class. I really like the high speed mellow thing going on. In a way it reminds me of a mellow style of The Killers. Probably not the greatest comparison, but I’m sticking to it.
The idea of going round and round on a carousel is kinda how I feel about the person I’m dealing with. Once this episode is done, that’s it, no more. Kinda why when I was approached about starting a new project in my house I said no. Need to complete all of that which has already been done. I will leave the rest until another time.
That’s how I feel inside this song. I’m the high speed moving aspect. With a strong sense of calm. He’s the mellow without a drive to it. Very weird juxtaposition.
Enjoy your day. I’m off to create more music and finish some projects. Hope you do the same!
