Whew, what a day.
Spent a whole lot of hours cooking my first from scratch Thanksgiving meal. That was quite the process. I really have to wonder how some cooks do it. Usually I’m not cooking so I can enjoy the meal and then go be active. Cooking for that long can really pull it out of a person. It was a really good meal. Lots of food and I’m happy I did it. I’ll do it again. I love to cook.
The meal was tasty and every really enjoyed it. That’s a plus.
Once it was over though, I was actually pretty darn tired. It’s a good thing that I didn’t have to go out and do anything super active. It’s also a good thing that I’m not a massively active shopper cause I’d be a mess today. I’ve spoken to some friends who stayed up all night to shop. I can’t fathom that. It boggles my mind. Are you one of these people? If so, can you explain the driving desire to stay up all night to spend more money?
The TSO show from a couple of days ago was really quite something. Though I will say that last year’s show was better than this year’s.
Gonna get vertical later today. Meaning a little rock climbing. I went for the first time last year and had fun. It wasn’t as bad on my fingers and forearms as I thought it would be. While I don’t really know anyone in Los Angeles that does it, I did get a harness and chalk bag for my birthday this year. I really ought to get out and find someone who likes to climb and see if they can give me some pointers.
Because of the idea of being up high and vertical on a wall, plus combining the ideas that people shop the asses off to get everything they want on “black friday” I’m rolling with Vertical Horizon and their song Everything You Want. The song has an extremely cool intro. The melody is top notch. The production is first rate. The playing is spotless. The song is memorable. All of it adds up to a winning song that put them on the map.
Unfortunately we don’t always get what we want. Or at least the people whom we want to want us don’t always do. Alas, that’s a different song.
