Ok, maybe stating that I’m in the midst of a tectonic shift might be a bit much. But it’s not far off. I realized this morning as I got up that I’ve been making a subconscious change to being a morning person again. Meaning I haven’t been staying up nearly as late and I’ve been getting up earlier than normal. What a change. Of course the same can be said with the fact that I’m having to look into a dental implant as well. That’s a pretty big change too.
Also, there’s been a shift in the weather. The past three days in LA have been overcast and now wet. It’s raining this morning. Which works out for me since I’ll be in the studio finishing up the production on a CD that I produced for an artist back in June. It will be great to get it off the plate.
Since it’s raining, I’m gonna roll with a song from Adam Day. He’s an artist that sent me a message a little while ago asking to listen to his music. I heard a snippet and said hey, I like this. My first impression is probably gonna be a strange one in that I immediately thought of Tracy Chapman and her tune Fast Car.
There’s an urgent and rather uptempo vibe going on for a song about rain. In a way that’s the exact opposite of how the emotional value of rain is used in most stories and movies. The opposite of an emotion in a song can often be a great way to lift a spirit and that’s what I’m thinking of as Adam’s song Rain is pulsing thru my speakers. I’m feeling a little more up and that’s a great thing.
Grab Rain by Adam Day, it’s a good way to get up on a down day.
Adam is a gifted musician and poet who needs to be shared with a wider audience. Kudos for picking up this song as your single of the day!
I couldn’t agree more with Pat Jenkins’ comment. Best of luck to Adam!
I’ve had the opportunity to know Adam and listen to him grow as a musician for a number of years now. I’m thrilled to hear this song on single of the day!
