Last night found me hanging out with my friend Jeff Soto. He’s been out of the country for a while, so we went to grab some grub and have a few drinks. Starting at Mexicali and transferring to Howl at the Moon at City Walk. While hanging at the bar of cover tunes we ran into several people we knew. Add to that I ran into a friend I haven’t seen in about a year. Scott is now performing a few nights a week in Las Vegas doing a 70’s cover act that only plays music by acts that had mustaches during the 70’s. Odd concept, but it’s taking off for them.
The only thing that really may have been wrong is having drunk too much. I woke this morning with a bit of a hangover. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that I’ve only been drinking water as of late. Either way my need today is to get things finished in the data for the library as it’s getting sent out today to SoundMouse.
Here we go with the music.
I’ve been thinking of plans and words to express. Which gives me reason to run with We Can Work It Out by Tesla. There’s a band that has made a bit of a resurgence from their 80’s past. Because of the newer material, I’ve gone back and listened to earlier works. I’m amazed these guys weren’t bigger or more popular. Musically they have it going on. Smokin drumming, scorching guitar work, and a solid bass. I suppose the vocals take a little getting used to, but they’re spot on.
This is a cover, obviously, of a famous Beatles tune. They do a fine job on it. Don’t know if they perform it live any more. I’ll have to check out a show next time they’re on the road to find out I suppose.
Communication is key.
