There’s one thing that happens when you’re recording a singer or you’re a singer being recorded, they/you can get tired. As soon as you get tired your voice starts to give out and things aren’t as strong. It’s as much a problem if you don’t get enough rest as well. The voice is a funny instrument in that respect.
Such was the case of the singer I’m recording yesterday. She got tired after a couple of songs and we had to call it a day. Until then we got some good stuff for her record. Today it will be on to more recording. I do get to go by a house in the hills of Hollywood to see a friend of mine that I haven’t seen in a few years. He’s in town from Canada for a weekend of fun with his wife and some of their family.
Thus due to the international flavor of my day, I’m gonna roll with some international flavor in music (not Canadian). This is Dave Sasscer and this is his song Puerto Rico. As it turns out one of my best friends is Puerto Rican. He happens to be a fantastic singer. So Dave has a lot to live up to with that one. Dave is doing very well in portraying a style of music that I’m not overly familiar with.
Enjoy the guitar and vocal. Enjoy the vibe. Get down with your international self!
