So last week I ended up taking a moment from a day. Rather more like a bunch of moments. I learned a song and then recorded it in the same day. I figured it would be fun thing to do while it was raining outside.
I ended up taping the entire process of some of the things I do while I’m recording a song in the studio. It’s not meant to sound hi-fi. It’s not meant to be perfect. It was quick and dirty and a bit funny too. Here’s the video clip so you can check it out.
I’ve got a meeting to jet off to for a book I’m writing to coincide with a music project I did with a couple of co-writers. Thus I’m gonna leave ya with a tune that I rather like and maybe I’ll do a version of this one at some point as well. It’s kinda fun to quickly learn something and immediately put it down. Maybe do a whole series of ’em.
The song is Torn, but this is the popular version. Not the version that was done by the writer. I featured that version nearly 4 years ago (holy cow!) I’ve been doing Single of the Day for that long now?!? That’s a little odd.
This is very much a made for the masses pop cut of the song. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s a great song. I remember where I was the first time I heard it. Of all places I was in a little underground pub/night club in Paris. Drinking with jet lag and having a great time with a girl from Denmark.
Enjoy!
