Roofing it

Weekend plan is to get the studio computer working again and to get a new roof put on the storage shed.

The studio computer after I got it back from being in the shop needed a new OS install (almost sounds like a Windows adventure). So I did that last night. However this morning the machine already crashed again. On a brand new OS install. ARGH. More hunting.

Tunes out it may have been a piece of Apple software. I found looking thru the logs of the machine and it shows a particular plugin that was attempting to load over and over and getting errors every time. From what I read about it it also creates a memory leak that leads to a crash. I removed it today and so far so good. If it gets thru at least a week, I think I’ll be in the clear.

The roof is a whole different story. A job that I’ve been putting off for far too long. The wood has rotted and it’s high time it’s changed.

A tune from some time ago by a band that was popular amongst musicians. They had one video that I can recall seeing somewhere but it wasn’t from this song. They are the Meat Puppets and of course if you’re at www.singleoftheday.com you’re hearing Roof With A Hole. If you don’t get today’s reference, well, then I don’t know what to say.

I’m rolling with it because of the roof I’m replacing. The song itself is a simple matter of a songwriter writing about something that has affected them. I’m sure many people can relate to a roof with a hole it in. I know I’ve dealt with it now at least twice in my life.

It’s a sombre tune, mostly because of the idea that it’s a mess to clean when some things get wet. This is the case of some things in my shed. I’ve needed to toss out some things I was keeping saved due to water damage. It’s finally time to deal with it and prevent it for the future.
