It’s a little scary to think that if I were on the road, touring, could I keep up with something like Single of the Day. That’s a pretty pertinent question considering, I’m a day and a half late posting today’s post. Nothing like cramming two posts at once. Sometimes I have to wonder where did my time escape to.
Friday obviously was filled with me dealing with a show I performed friday night. Gathering instruments, gear, and making sure I have everything I needed for the first band show I’d done in a while. Not a daunting task, but when running files around for a CD I’ve been finishing with a friend, then getting everything else ready and it’s a filled day.
I actually spoke up to myself and wondered if I didn’t have my head permanently attached, would I forget it. I’m not a forgetful type of person. But in the past couple of weeks, I’ve noticed that I’ve managed to forget a few things. Maybe I can blame it on stress or something. Though I think that would be a lame excuse.
Which brings me to today’s song. I’m betting that every once in a while it’s actually a very good idea to forget things. It shows you’re human. It also shows that maybe, once in a while you’re challenging yourself to doing too much. As it’s said, if you want something done, you need to give it to someone who is extremely busy. While it may get done, it may not always get done on time.
I’m new to the Breaking Benjamin fold. But I liked the title. Mostly because I feel like it means we should forget things once in a while. The cool thing about this song is the constant changing of the vibe in the key. It’s almost as if they’re saying hey forget the last key, we’re going to another one. It works though. At least for me.
I like the driving feel as it keeps pushing from section to section. The transitions become really easy to follow thanks to the mellow easy keel of the vocal. It just works.
Go get ’em.
