A couple of nights ago I spent some time hanging out and playing with some new friends. Talk about being thrown to the wolves sometimes. I’m so used to writing and recording that sometimes I feel like I’m losing the ability to jam. Which is why I’m making the time to get out and hang with these new friends. They spend a lot of time doing the day gig of recording music for a living. Then they let loose and have fun late into the night. Here’s a picture of me getting back into the swing of improvising in a song I’ve never heard nor played before…
In a sense I’m repairing my ability to improvise.
Having been thru the ringer with this Punk CD I’m working on with Robert. I’ve found a few little things wrong with my Taylor Guitar. Thus I contacted my rep at the factory and after tomorrow’s show I’ll be sending it down to El Cajon to have it repaired. All so that it will be back up to factory spec and playing like the dream it usually is.
Additionally, I have an issue with my lappy. About a year ago I took it in to Apple due to the surface where my hands rest wearing out really quick. I never actually had it repaired at that point, but the order was started. Well, in the past couple of days it’s also developed a warp along the side. It’s the craziest thing because I’ve never dropped it, and I handle it with care. Thus today I’ll be heading in to Apple to make good on that repair order that was already started. I’ll be a happy camper when I get it back. Because if it’s anything like my old G4 lappy they repaired, it will be like having a new machine.
Then of course most of us in the U.S. are aware of the government attempting to repair the financial markets. So it seems it’s a day or even a time of repair.
Which is probably the hidden message going on here in Gregory’s song. A nice and mellow song that has that tug at the heartstring value. It’s touching. It’s moving. It’s cool. I’m happy to have found him to add him to my library. How about you. Take a moment to think about the mood going on in the song. I think we’ve all felt it. I know I have. Get your world in order. If it needs repair, then take the steps needed to do it.
