Ok, who the hell ordered more fire in Los Angeles? I’m a little cranky this morning due to a lack of sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night sweating from heat and noticed the smell of smoke. First thoughts were, shit is my house on fire? So I got up to have a little water and look around at 4:30 in the morning. I walked around the house sniffing to find out if it was in the house. Then I went outside and I could really smell it. So I looked at my roof and the neighbors houses, no fire.
I come back in, get online and boom there it is, fire in Sylmar.
I’m parched. It’s smokey. Ugh.
I know that the lyrics to today’s pick have absolutely nothing to do with burning or fire. It’s about shooting and love. But I like the title and we do have an open fire raging in Los Angeles. The beat is pounding and pulsing, much like how it must feel in the heat. The guitars are crunchy and the drums are slamming. It’s an instantly recognizable intro. That’s a good thing. It’s little things like that that make their entire CD a really good CD from front to back. They’re all strong songs.
Plus they were cool dudes. I’m sure they’re probably still cool dudes. I haven’t seen any of them in a while.
Hopefully you’re not getting smoked out today. I’m likely to head to the Hermosa Beach area today to escape the smoke and heat. Have a great day!
