Of course I have to give a few words to the recount as to what occurred last night. See I dressed up for halloween as the incarnation of Michael Myers from the movie. However, I did it indirectly. There’s a scene where he’s taken a sheet from one of the people he’s killed and where’s it like he’s a ghost. What completed the picture was that I had sunglasses on. Though not like the glasses he had on in the movie. At one point at the first party someone who was dressed to Rick Roll people had an iPod with speakers. He played the halloween theme. Oh the perfection of the moment.
Afterwards my friend Robert, his roommate and I made our way down to West Hollywood to partake in the madness on Santa Monica Blvd. Thousands of people were out in force dressed to the hilt in all kinds of costumes. I think of all the costumes I saw, the three of us were the most diverse. Robert was Mad Max, I was a blue ghost with glasses version of Mike Myers, and Aaron was this creature with tentacles and eyes. In fact he got a lot of people asking what he was. Lots of pictures were taken of his outfit, it was wild. We started coming up with weird answers like abnormal testicles, or an alaskan malamute, or an octopus, etc…
I wasn’t expecting to be surrounded with so many people having fun like that. As a warning if you’ve never been to that area of LA it’s primarily gay people. I actually didn’t remember that until I got there. A whole lot of them had costumes that I imagine weren’t a huge stretch from there personalities. The great thing is everyone was having fun. I saw two black girls dressed as Venus and Serena Williams. They were jumping around the crowds playing tennis. It was hysterical.
I even saw something that I can’t quite be sure I understood. There was a topless person with very nice looking breasts uncovered except for some glitter. However, I can’t be sure that it was a girl. Aaron was pretty sure it was a transvestite. I didn’t think much about it, and I didn’t ask or check. I only took it in like a movie.
While walking back to my car as the police closed the event down around 2 am, I was confronted by a ghoul. Actually a gay ghoul. Who didn’t attempt to move thru the crowd instead stopped in front of me and hugged me and wouldn’t let go until I hugged him back. It was funny. Mostly because there’d be no way for people know I was guy or a girl, unless I’d be some sort of freak girl at 6’4″. I was under a sheet. Either way, I didn’t feel uncomfortable walking around in that environment. There were also a good number of scantily clad women. In all it was a fun night. But traffic sucked major ass getting in and out of the area.
Since I was under a sheet and having a little bit of heat going on it was a little suffocating. Thus I’m going to end October and start November on a little ditty by a friend’s old band called Choking Ghost. John is a great guitarist and a powerful singer. I’m still amazed that John, who has asked me about putting music on places like iTunes, still hasn’t put his music up.
I think the groove of this song actually would have made a really good soundtrack for last night’s adventure. I have the feeling quite a few people were walking dead in a Standing 8 last night. Didn’t seem to dampen their fun. I certainly enjoy John’s use of dynamic. Keeping a low profile in the verse, then pumping up in the prechorus. Then letting loose with a long drawn out melody in the chorus. It’s killer.
Go bug John and tell him you want his tunes on iTunes and Amazon, etc…
Have a great day, don’t forget the time change tonight for those of us that observe daylight savings. And are you looking forward towards the end of the year? Two months to go.
