Talk about running short on time. Earlier this week I was typing that I needed to get some things done earlier. Today isn’t one of those days. Immediately on getting up it was dealing with the web developer who I pulled the plug on. Seems he’s now committed to finishing the site as I originally envisioned as it will hurt his companies future situation on Elance if he doesn’t. This is a good thing as it’s finally coming together.
From there it was off to a drum session for the song I’m currently co-writing for a movie. That took longer than desired, but we got get stuff and so right after this I’m into mix mode to get the mix ready for mastering later today. Song should be in the hands of the movie people in the morning.
As for Five AM, I kinda feel like they’re from a surrogate hometown for me. Why? It’s where my sister resides. She’s made a good name for herself doing architecture there. In fact she’s doing so well she’s purchasing a house, a very nice house that I may be helping her out with. Good stuff.
As for Five A.M. and their song, it’s a straight ahead alternative rock type thing. Not overly pushy in terms of edge, a nice easy going type thing. The sort of song you’d hear on a W.B. show. That’s what I’m gleaning from my listening. This is the second time I’ve featured a song called Fall Apart here on the blog. The other one is way heavy.
Interestingly they call The Fray and influence. I somehow missed The Fray when they had a huge hit. However, I’m in the middle of co-writing a song with a friend and we’re sorta going after the sound of The Fray as the influence on it. So I’m going to say yes, Five A.M. has a vibe that resembles The Fray on this song. Very apt of them to note the influence and hit the mark.
Enjoy, I’ve got to throw some food down my throat for lunch and get to the mixing. Don’t go falling apart! Hold it together and get the tune!
Love it.
