Wouldn’t it be nice if so many people stopped giving out TMI? I’m referring to such private moments like a divorce. I can understand why a lot of people might be interested in the little details of the divorce of Paul McCartney. The nice thing is that on the front end Paul has a lot of tact in attempting to keep things quiet. Heather on the other hand was a mess, made herself look downright looney and wonders why a large part of the world isn’t siding with her. Hopefully Paul won’t make good on shedding light about other aspects of the divorce. I don’t think it’s tactful.
Now enter Trisha Walsh-Smith and her public outcry posted to YouTube about her divorce. I have no idea who she is, I don’t care who she is. I do come to the conclusion that she has absolutely no concept of some things that ought to be private between the parties involved. Bashing an ex as you’re going through the breakup is good for say a few people to know about. People like close friends who help you to get through things. But it’s not so good for the whole world to know. I suppose the one good thing to come of the press she’s getting is that I’d not likely consider entering a relationship with her. No business, no friends, no relationship of any kind. Mind you I haven’t seen the video clip. I have no desire to watch it. But reading about it makes me scratch my head.
Today’s song has a great title for the what if type question. What I like about the song is the vibe. It reminds me of a cross of Edie Brickell and Nora Jones. I like the playful sound of the piano and the wha wha of the guitar. It’s very stylistic and cool. The drums are providing a nice solid laid back groove. Especially when it hits the chorus and backs off even more. It bit of the reverse psychology on standard pop style music where the chorus generally attempts to hit harder and add even more to the mix. I know I’ve written some songs that do this. Fortunately for Alyse it’s working for her style.
Don’t you agree? We all need a laid back groove once in a while. This is good one to add to your library. You can grab the whole CD at CD Baby or snag this song via iTunes. Go, do it now.
