It’s one of those days, like last week, where I’m already getting off on a start of being on the phone more than I want to be. The phone is such a valuable communication tool for long distance things, however, it’s still a tedious medium if you’re on it too much. It detracts from being human. Yet, interestingly enough, it’s more human than say e-mail, or even this blog type stuff. How do you make digital stuff like e-mail, websites, and blogs human?
It’s so strange that so many humans want less human contact in face to face matter – unless it’s in regards to sexual urges. Wouldn’t you agree? I wonder, do people really think that banking via a computer interface is any quicker or more personal? Quicker, maybe – if you’re not already at a bank and want to do something at 10 p.m. However, how many of us really use time effectively?
Anyway, some of the things I’ve been working on for the past year are finally coming to a head and may actually start to see fruition this week. This is a good thing. I’m really hoping it’s the case. But we all need a line and sometimes we all feel like we may need a rescue. Which makes me think… I’m not sure I’ve needed a rescue more than a few times so far in life. Most of those were from skiing. Hmmm… I do know that I’ve helped others a whole lot. So that’s a plus – I’m storing up those rescues. 🙂
Which brings me to today’s choice. Break Me Out by The Rescues. They come to my attention actually by another recent featured artist: Kyler England. Turns out she’s a member of the band with Adrianne and Gabriel Mann. So naturally I’ll be curious to hear what she’s doing in a band sense. Turns out I featured Adrianne back at the end of the year for 2007. So already have two out three members gracing the pages. As a warning, I’ve heard Gabriel’s stuff too and it will eventually be here as well.
Lets say that they have a very pleasing sound. In fact if you’re any bit into classic rock you might get a feeling of a Fleetwood Mac type thing. Which in my book is a great thing. They’ve got a lot of talent oozing out of their creative minds. Plus Gabriel is a very handy producer. To boot it turns out Gabriel has worked with another artist featured here on Single of the Day. So he’s a busy guy.
With all the compliments I can dole out, I would say that I would happily co-write with any or all three of these fine musicians. No doubt about it.
In the meantime, you can freely enjoy yourself when you click the iTunes or CD links. Get them on your iPod now!
Excellent choice — great song, fantastic group!
I knew all of these wonderful musicians individually before learning they were to meld, so I expected good things from The Rescues. But they deliver GREAT things…great harmonies, great lyrics. So much talent that even the normally jaded audience at Hotel Cafe found themselves holding their collective breaths to hear every note of their LA debut. I cannot wait to see where they take us from here…
Yes, I’m in agreement, they do blend well together. Which is a good thing. Sometimes “supergroups” don’t, but in this case it worked.
