Got in last night. Unloaded the car, and proceeded to unwind. Woke up early this morning imagining I was hearing the dynamite blasts of the ski patrol doing avalanche duty in Park City. Only I’m no longer there. So it was all in my head. Darn. I was hoping it snowed some more and I was still on vacation.
Instead I’m back in Los Angeles and up earlier than I had expected. Thus I’m already knee deep in getting back into the swing. Plowing through unpacking. Getting ready to make an errand trip about the LA area. Going to donate some things I no longer need. That’s a good thing right? I got to make use of my new pans and knives this morning. Yippee. How dorky is it that rockstar in the wings is happy about kitchen stuff?!? Need to bulldoze through bills. I wonder if the Rock Her World diamond girl has these things to do right now? What about the Iowa caucases? Who are you shooting for as a president?
K, I’m starting to sound a be eclectic. Which is how I’m feeling right now. Like I’ve got too much to do in a day. But I’m energized. Much like the song you’re listening to today. I’m pretty sure that the Jack Conte you’re hearing is not the Voice of the Sims thing. But I could be wrong. Jack are you a Sims voice? I came across Jack’s music while on vacation in Park City. I really dug his vibe. Similar in idea to what I’m doing in a way. Mixing high tech production and sounds with organic instruments and writing. That’s all the similar there is though. We’re way different in approach. Which is cool. It’s a good thing that there is so much creativity in the world.
Jack is also enthusiastic about new music. At least that’s what I concurred when he wrote me back excited about being considered for Single of the Day. He wanted to hear me. Which is cool. So I obliged with sending him a link. I do think that once I’m out on the road I would like to invite him to open a show. I will certainly keep him in mind for that.
I really like the uses of the synths, the guitars, the percussion. It all makes for a really interesting mix. Can’t beat that. Upbeat and fun. That’s how I want my 2008 to go and I can’t think of a much better song to help get this week up off the ground.
Jack informed me that he’s doing another version of Yeah Yeah Yeah. So soon there may be alternate mixes. Until then, please get it legally for your iPod.
