I have to mention this off the bat. The artist expressed that I had to tell you that this song is inspired by a Peruvian who is a long way from the motherland. Please picture that in your mind as you listen.
I’m a bit late on today’s blog as I’ve been running around Los Angeles feverishly attempting to documents that relate to my career. I’ve got them. I’ve faxed them. Now I have wait until tomorrow. Keep the fingers crossed that it ends up being the good news I’ve been waiting 11 months for.
What struck me about this song is the passion in the playing. That’s probably due to all that missing the motherland thing he told me in the e-mail to me. Then again, I’m occasionally a sucker for the guitar work. Especially if it’s good. To top it off, I’m diggin all the extra percussion. It’s got a crazy rhythm that is full of intense vibe. It’s also quite freeform which is par for the course when it comes to latin style music. They don’t follow computers or click tracks they follow their passion.
I haven’t a clue as to what the band is really singing about. You know what, I don’t care either. It’s fun. I feel like I could be sitting in a socalo (I think that’s the correct term for a city center) watching pretty women walk by. Then one would walk by, and bam, she’d be ready to tango and despite my lack of tango knowledge, I’d jump in and swim. That’s the beauty of music don’t ya think? I do.
