Shoot me for a late post. Turns out I should have thought to do today’s post before I set for to update the computer from which I do my blogging. However, better late than never. First off, I’ve updated to Apple’s new OS today on my lappy. In case you’ve been under a rock it’s called Leopard and it’s quite a face lift. I almost feel like I have a new machine.
Thus that’s the tie in I’m going with for today’s song choice. Chris Whitley wrote a ditty called New Machine. It’s very eclectic, which essentially fits the mood I’m in getting used to the new features and look of my environment. So far I’m only finding things I really like about it. However, I haven’t delved to deep yet as I’ve only been into it about an hour.
Kinda like getting into this album by a formerly great blues artist. Again for those under a rock, Chris died a couple of years ago. Rather unfortunate. Din of Ecstasy is certainly his most non-conformist album he ever did. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t own it. You should. In fact, go get it now. Put on headphones and take a ride. It’s not your mother’s blues. It’s out there and on pluto.
(** Disclaimer: If Chris’ label decides to send a new machine after me, I’ll have to take a hammer to the audio on the server. The post will remain to show that I’m changin my digs. **)
