Well, it was a long day yesterday. I’ve been working on replacing the outside door to the studio. It’s a case of something where I should have hired a handyman that knows what the hell he’s doing. I finally got the door in after a major ordeal. Not fun, but at least I’ve got it in and it works.
The fun part of the day was going to another studio to get my vocals produced on my new song Hero Unexpected. Talk about grueling. I normal shoot for getting one good pass through a vocal take and leave it at that. It’s generally served me very well and doesn’t kill my voice in the process. Occasionally I’ll need a couple of extra takes. But my friend George Leger III was pushing me to produce a song and I figured this was a good one to try. So after I got there we got set up and away we went. I’ve never sang so much at once. We got 98% of the song, but I must have sang it probably in the neighborhood of 30 times through (that’s a lot of singing). By the end I was wiped out. This had better kick major fucking ass, cause I left my throat on the floor.
I got home and noticed I’ve now got a nice sun burn due to extra time in the sun. Not to mention a touch of sun stroke. In turn I got stuffed up. I went to sleep and woke up stuffed up and with a headache. So in light of that, I choose a little ditty about the color blue. Shades of Blue to be exact. The nice thing is, I’ve popped a few advil and my headache is starting to dissipate. Though I’m still working on the stuffed up thing. I could tell it was coming on last night while singing. So I hope that I don’t have to redo much because of a plugging up nose. I don’t know what brought on the stuffiness but I hope it’s just the over abundance of sun I got.
I’m being soothed by the mellow nature of Craig’s tune. In fact a lot of the songs on his CD are very much in this vibe. Thus if you’re a silent fan of easy listening jazzy type of stuff I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. I know I was, and it’s certainly fitting of my mood. But I plan on turning it around when I head out for a lunch meeting and of course the poker game tonight.
Ever get sun stroke? Did you get a stuffy nose to go with it? Do tell…
Get more rest most pepole get sick because of lack of sleep I know i do.
Keep singing J
Yeah, I’m due for a nap this afternoon before the poker game tonight. I’m feeling wasted. Bad thing is George is also under the weather a little today too. So maybe there was something creeping around his place that got both of us.
