So I started looking at the Eat Right For Your Blood Type book yesterday. Why did I do that? Well I finally learned what my blood type was. Wanna know what else is interesting? I’ve asked a bunch of people if they know their blood type. So far, I’ve met one person that has known. Everyone one else is clueless. Which is surprisingly shocking, considering that it’s vital to survival when your dying from bleeding. What have I learned about my blood type? It’s rare and it’s relatively new in the grand scheme of the history of man.
What did I learn about my diet? I already eat quite healthy. However, it seems there are foods that I really dig that are not friendly to my chemical makeup. So today I tried something a little different and had only food on the neutral and beneficial side. What have I noticed? Well, I seem to have a little less sluggish going on. But it’s a little early to tell after one day. Some of the disappointing things are, I’m not supposed to have Oranges or Orange Juice. Which blows because I have an Orange tree. I guess, I’ll just have to suffer through that in the future :-).
The bonus is that I’m built for a lot of seafood, which is good for my sushi habit. However, there are some fish that are not good for me, that I suppose I’ll have to cut out. Unfortunately Shrimp, Crab and Lobster are three on that list that I love. Bummer. But there is a lot of others that are tops on my list like Salmon that is highly good for me. Woo hoo.
Enough about food. I’m beginning to sound like a dog. Only living for food. Wouldn’t that be great? Being able to wake up, be fed, lay around the house or the yard. Take the occasional crap or piss and do a lot of sleeping. I think that would be fairly nice. Of course if you’re an uppity dog who has a lot of energy because of a good diet and you have a nice yard, you might actually have some time to dig some holes. Holes to bury your chewing bones. Or if you’re like my mom’s dog, you’d just dig holes, just because.
That’s what I decided about today’s song. Hole Diggin’ is what happens when you’re a happy dog with a great diet that leaves you with a lot of energy. I’m wondering what possessed Scott Henderson to come up with it. A song about a dog diggin’ a hole. Actually the whole album is called Dog Party and every song is about the different facets of being a dog.
If you haven’t heard of Scott Henderson, he’s a fairly famous shred guitar master who has an insane knowledge of theory and the guitar in general. I remember sitting in a class he taught. He was very aggressive with telling people that if they didn’t know a certain level of theory that they should not be there. At the time, I thought it was arrogant. Actually it still is, but I understand it. Mostly because if you don’t have a certain level of knowledge it’s a waste of his time to teach and your time to learn.
In addition to being a high end guitar instructor, Scott was/is in a band known as Tribal Tech. Very very fringe type music. Progressive Jazz that is not extremely popular, but is insane to listent to if you can stomach it. Dog Party is a very bluesy rock type of departure for Scott. If you end up listening to the whole CD, you’ll hear his chops shine through. Sometimes its a bit of a stretch to far away from traditional blues, or blue rock. It’s still good listening. So explore and enjoy.
