How’s your Monday morning? I got a great ride in yesterday. I felt strong too. It’s a nice thing when you’re riding strong. My bike wasn’t feeling as great though. I had to take it in for a tune up. So that by next weekend it will be fully functional again. I can’t wait.
In other good news, an apple tree that I planted late last year has finally started sprouting leaves. What a relief. All the other trees around my house have been fully leaved for a month now. I was beginning to think the apple tree didn’t survive the nasty cold we had a few months ago. But alas that has all been for naught. I’m going to have apples fresh off a tree for juicing and eating. That rules!! Fresh oranges, fresh apples, fresh lemons. I’m gonna have to plant one more tree, I’m thinking of Avacado, but I’m not sure.
I’m still putting the finishing touches on my tune Hero Unexpected, but I should have it later today, all demo’d out. Hopefully Milo will dig it since it’s about his character Peter Petrelli.
You know Mother’s Day was a weekend ago and I was searching for a mama song, and I’ll be damned if this one didn’t slip my mind. My friend Deirdre has a great song. I so should have remembered this, what a dumb thing to forget eh? I met Deirdre when she was slingin coffee at a place called the Sonoma Cafe in Studio City or therebouts. I was doing a bunch of open mics, getting my musical shit together a couple of years ago. I became friends with Deirdre and we learned a few things that we had in common.
She’s from New York. I’m from New York. She was best friends with Mary Stuart Masterson. I was good friends with her younger brother Peter (Mary Stuarts that is). However, neither of us knew each other, or at least remembered each other, but then how much do you remember when you’re like 4 or 5? She was older, so she should remember. We almost share the same birthday, mine’s August 12th, her’s is August 11th. Anyway, that’s how we got to know one another. Don’t go looking for the Sonoma, it unfortunately got put out of business by Starbucks, when one opened nearby.
Anyway, here’s a great little ode to mom. A week and a day late, but I say better late than never. I’m not sure why Deirdre only put for songs on the CD, but they’re all good songs. You should get the whole thing. Heck on iTunes it’s pretty darn cheap. So do it.
