I need a good swift kick the karmic head. I made the mistake of posting on a songwriters board about the fact a lot of people seem to forget that one of the sound principles in the U.S. Constitution is freedom speech. What ends up happening? I get misquoted in a terrible way and it’s now turned around on me in a way that describes me as saying I want limits on things which is so not right it’s scary. What’s more scary it’s by someone who has a less than stellar grasp of the English language. That’s painful. It’s at times like this when you want to curl up and go away.
I could attempt to point out the flaws in how they misquoted me but then it would be pointless. Eventually they would just start attacking me for being liberal or something. Which when you sit down and actually read the Constitution is really how this country was envisioned – to be free in Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. It’s sad when people attack others. It’s most often due to ignorance. That very same ignorance is difficult to overcome because their mind is not open to reason.
Instead I think I will take this morning to clear my head. I’d like to put it out of my mind that we still have massive educational problems. I’m going to tune into my surroundings. It’s overcast, a perfect time to be indoors and exploring ones self. I can be creative. I could write a song. I could write a book. I could clean. I could make a picture. I could ask for a massage. I could have sex. I can meditate.
Today’s song is perfect for just such moments. Well, at least for me it is, provided that you believe in the astrological stuff. I’m not big into the whole astrology thing, but I am a Leo. This is a song about a Leo Moon. I know it has to do with astrology. I will acknowledge right now that I really don’t know much about astrology other than some very basic things about Leos. I haven’t a clue about how it relates to different cycles of the moon. I don’t care, I’m enjoying it anyway and that is what it’s about for me. To enjoy.
I had a brief e-mail exchange with Robin about the song. The song was recorded in one take on a Leo Full Moon. Pretty impressive, but also likely why it’s entrancing. Apparently there are meditations that go to each song on the album. I’m guessing that they’re specific to each type of moon phase. I have no clue if we’re anywhere near a Leo moon but Robin also pointed out what the meditation is about:
“Confidence in one’s own initiative, comfortable with your own unlimited strength, there is no need for frivolous demonstrations of power. Simply being yourself commands respect. See this in all beings, knowing this of yourself. Never lonely in your independence, head raised, roaring into the night.”
Sounds pretty solid to me.
There are 5 songs on Robins CD. It’s geared for lovemaking, massage and meditation. While I don’t normally put on music to have sex with. I can see where this particular song would have worked as a soundtrack to an experience a few nights ago. Ahhhh.
Ok, time for you to put it to your own use. Go get the song, or better yet the whole album and put it to your own good use. Don’t live vicariously through me on this one.
