I choose me. Me for my Sunday’s Child. Mostly because the Christmas album I have been blabbing about for so long is finally finished and sitting in my hot little hands. I’ve gotten it all prepared for iTunes and with any luck it will be there in a few days and ready for you to add to your collection. The weight I’ve lost is the anticipation of getting this huge thing done.
Let me preface that I don’t have any pictures of Britney Spears showing her crotch getting out of an expensive car, or of her paling around with Paris. I don’t do that to friends. I can say that I was at a party last night with some fun characters though. Lots of alcohol, lots of musicians, some good snacks and of course instruments for playing music too.
It was all I could do to get Britney to get up and sing her Christmas hit “My Only Wish”. Of course with live musicians and no backup tape it was a little barren. No one really cared though, we were drinking. Several party members started playing air vocals to the live music. Think kareoke with a live band, only the air vocalist isn’t singing, just pretending to, and dancing around while another real vocalist is taking charge.
Renditions of James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Toto, Prince, Ozzy, Van Halen, and so many more started coming out. I was surprised to see Paris get up on the James Brown funk singing ‘get on up’. It wasn’t anything like her single or her burger commercial. It was all good fun.
What can I sit here and say about my own song?!? Not a lot really, other than, it’s been a long trip to get it here. I will say that I’m particularly fond of the guitar groove. I know it’s a Christmas song because the lyrics and chorus state it specifically. Though I’m not sure stylistically I can call it as such. It seems like an alternative pop song that relates to Christmas. I think I need your feedback about it. Yeah. I definitely do. How would you classify this song?
Don’t think I won’t mention it again if it gets onto iTunes in a few days. I will – just to warn you.
As for my pals Britney and Paris. Ok, I was really only changing the names to protect the innocent at the party I was at last night. There were musicians. There was alcohol. There was jamming. I did get up and sing. There were famous musicians playing. It was fun. Unfortunately Britney and Paris were somewhere else doing their thing.
Loved the song. Put me in a christmas mood. Voice sounds amazing as usual. Thanks for letting me know about it. Oh and cool cover picture of Santa. Now don’t you wish that you were partying with Paris and Britney. Hey you can be her next K Fed. LOL 🙂
Jody, well what can i say, the song was great, your voice is as always wicked awesome. and as far as it being a christmas song, yes i do believe it does sound like a soft rock christmas song. does that help? hope so. love it anyways. heehee. keep up the great music.
Thanks Jen, but I don’t think I’d want to be K-FedEx. I’m glad it sounds like a good Christmas song to you.
Ann, you’re too kind. I’m glad you like my voice. A soft rock Christmas song, that’s a target I can live with.
Britney Spears is the bomb love ya!
Britney has brought together a number of songwriters to produce her upcoming album. And I beleived it was supposed to come from the heart!
